RAID 1 Recovery
RAID 1 also known as mirroring, is a RAID configuration where the data stored on one disk is mirrored exactly onto another disk. RAID 1 mirrored configuration can be created using multiple RAID disks.
RAID 1 configuration provides high level of redundancy, as the data stored on one disk is duplicated exactly onto another disk. If the primary disk fails then access to data can continue from the mirrored disk.
Multiple disk RAID 1 array is setup to store data across multiple disks and mirror this onto another set of multiple disks. Although this gives very high level of protection against data loss, this type of configuration is still very inefficient use of disk space, where half the available storage is used for mirroring.
Data loss from RAID 1 mirrored configuration is still a possibility if both the source and duplicate disk containing the data fails at the same time. We can still recover your data from RAID 1 failures. Once the failed source and duplicate disk is received into our laboratories our RAID 1 recovery specialists can quickly determine the best options and attempt a full disk recovery on the RAID 1 mirrored disk.
Although RAID 1 provides 100% redundancy, RAID 1 systems must still be used with caution. We have recovered data from many types of RAID disk failures and these have been from RAID 1 mirrored setup. As with our disk recovery services, RAID storage disks can still fail;
